Action Circle on Labour and Degrowth

Hi all,

I wanted to let you know that following conversations I had for my academic research in Catalunya last year I have been asked to participate in an **Action Circle on Labour and Degrowth hosted by the organisation Research and Degrowth – based in Catalunya it is a radical research group with a background in academic circles and the squatting movement that has morphed into a bit of a mouthpiece for the just transition. It took a long time for them to find funding but it kicks of Sept 9th. The project is one year long, funded and will include a summit in February. I was originally linked to the project via IWW – as I had been speaking to workers in the CGT, however I think given our focus on climate co-ops and previous links with GKN and co-op jackson the co-operative perspective makes more sense and is also a more novel contribution in light of the list of participating organisations (below) and that IWGB are also participating.

I’ll be happy to feedback about this to the Intl wg in meetings or on this thread with relevant info

Look forward to hearing all about this, Sean. Direction of travel is good !

@seanfarmelo I just spoke at a Labour Party fringe meeting run by a ginger group called ‘Our Restoration’ on the subject of deindustrialisation, reindustrialisation and workers control, alongside people from Redcar, Luton Vauxhall etc. I don’t know how/if they plan to follow up but I could put you in touch to see if there’s a linkup?
