Autumn Assembly 2026 Initial plans

Autumn Assembly 2026 is taking shape. We are planning to run a Friday of study visits with co-ops in Yorkshire/Manchester followed by a Saturday of learning, development and organising in Hebden Bridge. We’ll schedule some evening fun at a local venue too.

We are looking at Fridays/Saturday in Oct/Nov, avoiding the Radical Routes gathering on 14th Nov. If you know of other significant clashes please post them here!

When dates are finalised we will make the event open to bookings on the website and invite participation in planning the programme.

Hi Nancy I saw your email to Stir - is the venue decided? @Jonny is keen we use a social club venue and mentioned they might be able to provide some cash sponsorship etc

Hi Sion, That’s great, there is definitely space to collaborate! Social centres are on our list for study visits rather than hosting the whole event at the moment but keen to hear Jonny’s suggestions.

Is there a concrete proposal for a specific amount of sponsorship or cash, or a suggestion to use a specific social club?

We considered a few social club venues but they’re oft on the small side, 1 in 12 and cowley small / not suitable. Thurcroft is quite out of the way as a location. The Holbeck centre in Leeds could be, it’s hard to tell if it would be appropriate as a venue space for 40 or so people with different rooms. Woodhouse community centre also in Leeds was a consideration, but the venue in Hebden is very affordable and works well logistically for other reasons, given we don’t have budget for the event, with a visit to the Trades Club of course which is itself a social club.

Ah didn’t know location/venue had been decided
