Online Event - CiviCRM for Case Management, Tuesday 20th May 3-4pm

CiviCRM for Case Management: A Deep Dive into Nook

Tuesday May 20th 3-4pm ONLINE | Register here

Outlandish Cooperative has been building an open source case management tool with CiviCRM for frontline energy advisors, primarily in community energy groups. It’s called Nook.

We believe it has wider potential far beyond energy advice - it could be valuable for housing support, legal aid, social care, and more. We want to discuss this potential with more people.

Join us for an interactive session where we’ll:

:small_blue_diamond: Demo Nook in action, showcasing how it supports frontline advisors in managing complex casework.

:small_blue_diamond: Hear from one of the energy advice organisations who have been piloting Nook for the past couple of months.

:small_blue_diamond: Explore the broader potential of CiviCRM for case management, discussing how open-source solutions can be adapted for different sectors.

Who’s this event for?

  • Energy advice organisations interested in how CiviCRM can support case management and service delivery.
  • Small organisations managing cases (e.g. charities, advice services, membership groups) looking for a flexible tech solution.
  • Current CiviCRM users who want to expand its functionality or troubleshoot challenges.
  • Non-profits and social enterprises looking for open-source CRM solutions that align with their values.
  • Developers, tech agencies, and digital teams interested in customising or contributing to CiviCRM.

This looks great, thanks Natasha.
Do you think it could be applicable to trade/community unions?

Hi Jed. I think so. That’s kind of what we’re trying to figure out. We’ll be doing a demo of what we’ve currently built which is definitely customised for energy advice case management but our hunch is that we could customise it for a lot of different use cases quite easily.

sorry to follow up more as it’s obviously still an open question, but do you think it is more designed for time bounded cases - like energy advising or union work, or might it have some use for larger housing co-op management tracking things like rent, engagement, complaints and repairs? at strichley.coop we are working out what housing management software to use..

I don’t see why not! I don’t know enough about housing co-op management to know for sure. But just to be clear, the tool is currently built for energy advisors and would require significant customisation (and therefore funding) to be used for other purposes. But we want to showcase what it’s capable of and gauge what interest there is for other use cases. So it wouldn’t be ready as an off the shelf solution housing management software. Is that helpful?
