Worker co-op federation being built in Germany looking for advice

Sharing this request from Jan Steppe, a cooperater in Germany. Does anyone have some time to give advice from the experience of founding workers.coop?

my name is Jan and I am part of https://www.worker-coops.de/, a small group of active cooperators and researchers in Germany. We are currently trying to create a national network or federation for worker coops in Germany.

workers.coop in the UK is a big inspiration for us and we would be very grateful for the chance to learn from your experience. Would you be open to a short exchange about how you built your organisation, how you began and what you learned?

We would be very happy to connect if you have the capacity.

NB I’ve put this post on the publically-viewable News and announcements section so that they can create an account and view this thread without a member account (I think!).

Happy to engage on behalf of our International working group, and it would be great to have a sister network in de! I had some conversations with people from Kollektiv der Kollective earlier this year, but heard from a Berlin-based comrade that they lost a bit of momentum?

Hi Sion,

thank you for your reply! Yeah, that’s also what I’ve heard. We reached out to them as well but haven’t received an answer yet. It’s nice to hear that some exchange has already happened earlier this year.

Looking forward to exploring how we can build a sister network in DE!

Good one, suggest we see if anyone else responds here (leave it a few days?), then figure out how best to take the conversation forward?

Sure, we can do that.:+1:
