My name is Jez and I’m part of a small group all supporting each other to set up as freelance consultants and trainers in the Open Science area. We are not a co-operative but are all very interested in this model as a way to start a business, combine our skills, and building the sustainable & caring business model that we don’t see in our own current employers.

Hi all - My name is Erik! Changing life direction after a long career in tech/operations at a large corp. Had enough of that many years ago, do not want to suffer through going back. Here to learn as much as I can in preparation of starting/joining a coop in the near future.

Hello! I am Carolina, I work in A Fairer Society Coop, where we focus on how to create healthy power and effective organisation - from the individual, to teams, organisations and networks - and other organisational development topics. We use tools like Sociocracy, Agile, and so on. We’re consultants, trainers, facilitators. We’re also involved in community organising at the neighbourhood scale. Nice to be here!

I’m Rachel - I’m actually in the US, but am joining this to show support and learn some things hopefully to replicate the model a bit closer to home. I found this while looking at the DiEM25 member DIscourse, where I saw that “common knowledge” co-built their website, and then found workers.coop is one of the projects also served by common knowledge. It sounded relevant for me so wanted to get an idea how things go here, as I said. Thank you for any feedback and pointers for me and hopefully your projects are all going well!

I’m a founding member of a Therapuetic practitioners collective, and a cleaning services business, both of which are in the process of becoming fully worker owned and democratically managed cooperative entities.
I’m a 8 year long member of the sociocracy community, which is an awesome lil toolbox for self governance practitioners. I am also in love with the Art of Hosting, as well as the concepts of emergent group intelligence, that Sociocracy AoH and many others are each developing towards in their own ways.
My primary inspiration for getting into the coop movement is Cooperation Jackson, and I am intensely excited to be actively pitching in on the development of solidarity economies, starting with my local comrades here in our city in Ontario Canada where we live.
